The Renew Your Mind team consists of several of New Zealand’s leading Psychologists, Counsellors and Mindfulness trainers. They are on a mission to help people take control of their stress through teaching research-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness techniques. All of our practitioners live and breath mindfulness and have their own areas of specialization including:
- Mental Health
- Mindful parenting
- Trauma recovery
- Mindset for sustainable high performance
Our work is research-based and practical with a strong focus on teaching and coaching the use of techniques which don’t require a formal meditation practice yet have been called ‘enlightening’ and ‘gently life-changing’ by many.
How Can a Psychologist/Counsellor Help?
- Feeling unsatisfied with life?
- Stuck in a negative pattern?
- Wish your relationships were more fulfilling?
- Want to make changes but don’t know how?
We often want to make changes but don’t know how. We often make changes, but over time old habits take over again. When self-help books and new year’s resolutions just don’t do the trick, working with a psychologist or counsellor can help.
All behaviours have an origin and a starting point. They also have a purpose and are reinforced in some way – otherwise, they would not exist. Working with a psychologists leads to personal insights into these aspects of behaviour you want to change. This will naturally change your relationship with the behaviour and prepare you for making lasting changes.
Strategies for Change
The next step is learning strategies for changing behaviour. What strategies are best suited depends on your personality, the roots and characteristics of the behaviour and what strategies are most effective for changing that particular behaviour according to research.
Change does not come from talking alone. Research shows that we need to make practical changes and practice new behaviour for lasting change to occur. A psychologist will guide and coach you in doing this.
Who can work with a psychologist/counsellor?
Anyone can improve their wellbeing and that of their family by working with a psychologist or counsellor.
